2025 Funding

Applications for Funding are now open until the 31st of July 2025

This year IDOP Albert-Eden is celebrated from Wednesday 1 October to Tuesday 14th October.

We have small grants of between $100-$800 available for events, workshops or projects. You are most welcome to apply for other funding if you wish to complement your IDOP funding.

Purpose of the Fund
This fund aims to support new and innovative activities that enhance the wellbeing, connection, and active participation of older adults in Albert-Eden. It provides an opportunity to:

• Pilot or trial new initiatives that respond to the needs and interests of older people
• Explore new partnerships or collaborative approaches between groups, organisations, or community practitioners
• Encourage inclusive, culturally responsive, and intergenerational engagement

“Business-as-usual (BAU) activities that align with IDOP themes are welcome to be part of the wider promotional calendar, but will not be eligible for funding.”

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to groups, non-profits, local organisations, and practitioners working to support older adults.
  • Initiatives must be free of cost to encourage broad participation
  • The initiative must take place within the Albert-Eden local board and align with Age-Friendly Auckland Action Plan to support well-being, social connection, or active participation of older adults.
  • Activities must be scheduled within the two-week period surrounding the International Day of Older Persons: –  Wed 1 October to Tuesday 14 October
  • Projects and initiatives must be inclusive, accessible, and culturally responsive to older adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Higher priority will be given to new and innovative initiatives that demonstrate collaboration with one or more local partners.
  • Intergenerational events must feature older people prominently

Project examples: workshops, intergenerational events, arts activities, cultural activities, health and wellness sessions, digital literacy support, a showcase of skills or experiences
